Because Awareness is Always in Style
December 2011:December is Red Ribbon Month, or AIDS awareness month. I have written at length about my feelings towards AIDS research and how I think HIV/AIDS should never be considered "A Gay Problem". It's a Human Problem and it's up to us to find a solution. Aside from the the links listed below in the Charities list, you can also show your support by creating a digital panel for the 2011 AIDS Quilt.
October 2011:
Want to be part of something amazing? My favorite singer, Ally Burnett, is offering you a chance to be in her new video, "We Are All The Same." The goal of the video is to help kids who feel bullied and depressed know that they are not along, and there are people out there who can help, but we need YOU to contribute. April 2011:
Tornadoes ripped through the south eastern US, leaving lives lost and a trail of devastation in their wake. The American Red Cross is doing everything they can, but they need your help. Click here to see what you can do.
March 11th, 2011:
A massive 8.9/9.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Pacific Ocean nearby Northeastern Japan at around 2:46pm on March 11 (JST) causing damage with blackouts, fire and tsunamis.
Google has provided resources for you to help the people affected by the disaster. Even if you are not able to donate anything, please pass this along to everyone you know. Japan is a beautiful country, steeped in rich traditions, and has always held a special place in my heart. I studied Japanese culture for several years and have fallen in love with with it. Please do what you can, every little bit helps.

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." - Marilyn Monroe
I just discovered Rock the Red Pump, which takes place on March 10th. It's in order to promote solidarity for the women and girls around the world who have HIV/AIDS. The red shoe is a symbol of empowerment for us ladies. I'll be participating this year! You should, too!November 20th, 2010: A message from my good friend, the Ginger DJ:
"Brian Merritt was the inspiration for me to play music, and to be a better person. My brother from another mother. He left us too soon, but he'll never be forgotten.
We'd like to help raise some money for the family he left behind."

Donate money to the Brian Merritt Memorial College Fund.
Just click the "send money" tab, and enter Iansocha@gmail.com.

WWF - The World Wildlife fund will be taking donations to help animals that will be affected by the disaster.

Audubon Nature Institute - The Institute is accepting donations and sending volunteers to help the animals and plant life of the wetlands of Louisiana.
Below is a list of Charities and Awareness Organizations I've been involved with at one time or another.
